AgShare is a peer-to-peer marketplace connecting farmers with agricultural service providers across the United States. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide:
- Account Information: Name, phone number, zip code, city, and role (farmer or provider)
- Listings: Service type, descriptions, quantities, dates, locations, pricing, and photos
- Messages: In-app messages between farmers and providers
- Price Proposals: Detailed quotes including labor, materials, and pricing breakdowns
- Reviews & Ratings: Job completion reviews and star ratings (1-5 stars)
- Verification Documents: Optional insurance certificates and professional certifications
Automatically Collected Information:
- Usage Data: Which features you use, listings you view, and app interactions
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version
- Location Data: Only the zip code and city you provide (we do not track GPS location)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Connect You: Match farmers with service providers based on location, service type, and needs
- Display Listings: Show your offers or requests to other users
- Enable Communication: Facilitate in-app messaging and price proposals
- Build Trust: Display verified provider badges based on completed jobs and ratings
- Improve Service: Analyze usage patterns to enhance the app experience
- Provide Support: Respond to your questions and resolve issues
- Ensure Safety: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms
We do NOT: Sell your personal information to third parties, share your data with advertisers, or use your information for marketing without consent.
3. Data Storage & Security
Where Your Data is Stored:
Your information is securely stored on Supabase (our database provider) in data centers located in the United States (East US - North Virginia region).
Security Measures:
- Encryption: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard TLS/SSL
- Authentication: Secure phone-based authentication system
- Row-Level Security: Database policies ensure you can only access your own data and publicly shared listings
- Regular Backups: Automatic daily backups to prevent data loss
Photo Storage: Photos you upload are stored in Supabase Storage with public read access (so other users can view listing photos). You control which photos you upload.
4. When We Share Your Information
With Other Users:
- Your name, phone number, and location (city/zip) are visible on your public listings
- Messages and proposals are shared between you and the other party
- Your verification status and ratings are publicly visible
With Service Providers:
- Supabase: Hosts our database and storage (acting as our data processor)
- Stripe: Processes payments securely
- Apple: Handles app distribution and crash reporting
For Legal Reasons:
- To comply with legal obligations (court orders, subpoenas)
- To protect our rights, property, or safety
- In connection with a business sale or merger (you'll be notified)
We Never: Sell your data to data brokers or advertisers, share your messages with anyone except the intended recipient, or give third parties access to your account without your consent.
5. Your Rights & Choices
Access & Download:
- Request a copy of all your personal data
- Export your listings, messages, and proposals
Correction:
- Update your profile information at any time in Settings
- Edit or delete your listings
Deletion:
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Remove specific listings or messages
- Request complete data deletion (we'll comply within 30 days)
Opt-Out:
- Disable push notifications in Settings
- Choose not to upload verification documents
Data Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.

6. Children's Privacy
AgShare is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
If we discover that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us at privacy@agshare.app
7. How Long We Keep Your Data
- Active Accounts: Data retained while your account is active
- Deleted Accounts: Most data deleted within 30 days
- Legal Requirements: Some data retained longer if required by law
- Completed Transactions: Job records, delivery records, and ratings kept for 7 years for dispute resolution
- Messages: Archived messages retained for 90 days after account deletion

8. Cookies & Tracking
AgShare does not use cookies or third-party tracking technologies.
We collect basic analytics about app usage (which features are used, error reports) to improve the app, but this data is:
- Aggregated and anonymized
- Never sold to third parties
- Used solely for app improvement
You can opt out of crash reporting in iOS Settings > Privacy > Analytics.
9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know: What personal information we collect and how we use it
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information
- Right to Opt-Out: We don't sell personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights

10. International Users & GDPR
AgShare is designed for users in the United States. If you access our service from outside the US, please note:
- Your data will be transferred to and stored in the United States
- US privacy laws may differ from your country's laws
For EU/UK Users (GDPR):
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to data portability
- Right to restrict processing
- Right to object to processing
